Ms. Pramila Rai is Teasurer of Trans Himalayan Environment and Livelihood Program (THELP). She is Associate Professor in the Department of English at Padma Kanya Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu , Nepal , a leading women college attended by female students from all over Nepal . She is a teaching professional for over three decades. She is very active in education sector and was also awarded with Saraswati Navadevi Recognition - Celebrating Womanhood 2005 to acknowledge her contribution in education for women and girls and also to acknowledge the Vision, Power and Inner Beauty of Women.

Ms. Rai was born in remote village in Okhaldhunga , Nepal and struggled through her education, so she believes that social awareness, social transformation and empowerment of women in Nepal can only be possible through education of women.

She served as Chairperson of Nepal Kirat (Rai) Women Organization and National Indigenous Women Federation, Nepal (NIWF), and this has given her in-depth understanding and knowledge of the women issues, especially of the disadvantaged, socially marginalized, ethnic, dalits, Muslim and other minorities.
